Architecture and landmarks
The North Shore, which includes neighborhoods like Tompkinsville, Clifton, and St. George, is the most urban portion of Staten Island and is home to several historic districts, including St. Paul’s Avenue-Stapleton Heights Historic District and St. George Historic District, both of which are known for their large Victorian homes.

There are three vehicular bridges as well as one railroad bridge that connect Staten Island to New Jersey, one bridge that connects this borough to Brooklyn, and various tunnels and bridges that can get commuters from Staten Island to Manhattan.
